Two of our young athletes made the long journey to Cardiff at the weekend for the penultimate round of this years British Athletics Cross Challenge Series. It was a fairly flat course around Blackweir Fields with conditions relatively dry which made for some very fast running. Alex Thompson continued his winning streak with a second victory in the series, with Sam Smith not far behind in third place also gaining a medal. Both will now contest the final which takes place as part of the 2017 Inter-Counties race at Loughborough on March 11th where both could be in contention for this years Under 13 Boys title, with only 1 point separating them at the top of the table.
