An out and back along the track of the Pennine Way to the woods near Calton

EshtonMoorMapThis is an out and back course over undulating fields in beautiful surroundings. It starts with a  gentle climb up the long field before picking up the path of the Pennine Way.  It follows this over Eshton Moor, down and across the river  then around the wood before heading back the same way with a climb back over Eshton Moor. There are a number of perpetual trophies which are  presented at this race to members of Wharfedale Harriers.

Approaching Gargrave from Skipton, turn right at the Old Swan Pub, follow the road along, turn right at the car park, over the canal bridge, straight ahead along Mark House Lane.  There is a high wall to your left and a farm track on right.  Parking is on the road or turn into the track and use field on the left where the race starts from.
