West Yorkshire XC League
Cross Country season is almost here once again.
Provisional dates for this years West Yorkshire Cross Country League are now available. We have in the past done well in this league but for seniors it’s a requirement to have a full team at all 4 races. Teams are: 6 for men, 4 for ladies. The races are a great chance to socialise and meet other people from the club. The more people we have running the greater our chances, its just the first 6 or 4 to count. The men just missed out on the last race in 2022 by not having a full team. There are also races for juniors with teams of 3 being needed, for ages 9 and up.
The dates and locations for this year are provisionally:
Race 1: Sunday 8th October @ Nunroyd Park, Guiseley
Race 2: Sunday 29th October @Thornes Park, Wakefield
Race 3: Saturday 18th November @ South Leeds
Race 4: Sunday 10th Dec @ Oulton Sports Ground, Rothwell
Normally entry costs £30 for seniors and £20 for juniors however the club will subsidise the cost of entries to the league for members. Entries are now done through the Sportsoft website, but to take advantage of the club subsidy please pay your fee and England Athletics registration if required to the club and we will coordinate entries. So for Seniors/U20 the cost will be reduced to £10 and for juniors U11 -U17 £5.
Nick Charlesworth will co-ordinate a mens team, so if you are willing to run please let both him know. It would be good if we could also get a ladies team out if there is a lady wants to organise. You will need to have an up to date club membership and pay your EA subscription for this year if you haven’t already.

You then need to pay your entry fee, membership etc either by bank transfer, in which case talk to Su Thompson, or by hand/post to Su.
I will submit the entries for juniors and seniors but I need a final list of names for entry by Friday 29th September in order compete in the first race. So please register your details and pay as soon as possible.
All runners need to wear club vests, so if you need a club vest please contact Su Thompson.
