Conditions were slightly better on Penistone Hill for the second of this years Bunny Runs, although the ground was wetter it stayed dry for the race and it was a somewhat warmer evening. 149 Juniors and Seniors set of round on the 2.7 mile circuit.
Once again it was Toby Middleton of Horwich RMI who won the Egg Stage in a time of 3.25 but he couldn’t hold onto the lead as Edward Evans of Wharfedale Harriers went on to win in a time of 15.43. Female winner was Amelie Lane of Wharfedale Harriers who finished in a time of 17.56, and went home with an armful of eggs as she also won the Egg Stage in a time of 3.53 and was first GU17. Conditions were also good for another record to fall, this time the LV40 one, with Emma Hopkinson of Wharfedale setting a new time of 18.42
Please remember to keep your number and use it again if you come to the last race, and for those that run all three races there are the chance of series prizes which are handed out after the relays.
Overall series prizes normally go down to 10th place for Men and Ladies and then 4th place for Vet and junior categories. Remember to check the updated tables after Race 3 and then come to the relays when we will present the prizes.
