The mens team turned out in force once again at the final West Yorkshire XC league race at Guiseley to ensure they would claim the league title. Whilst the weather was kinder than the previous race, due to the recent storms the ground was still extremely soft, so once again this was something of a mudbath. On the day they could only manage 2nd place, narrowly missing out to Holmfirth, but it didn’t matter for the series as overall they had 2 wins and 2 second places which gave them a clear league win.

Individually there were notable successes for Lee Athersmith who finished 4th overall man, Gareth Hird 2nd V35, Christian Holmes 3rd V40 and Nick Charlesworth 2nd V45.
Two of our juniors also came away with trophies for the series. Alice Jones finished 3rd U13 Girl and Alexander Thompson finished 6th U13B . Both had excellent runs on the day despite both also having run the day before in the final of the English Schools Cross Country Cup at Bedford.
