For those of us setting off on the first leg we were expecting the worst for the weather but in fact compared with what came later we were quite lucky. Five Wharfedale teams in all set off, two Mens, two Ladies and a Mixed team. The worst came on the later legs, with many sections of the earlier legs becoming flooded and underwater. The last leg also for some meant wading through knee deep water as the beck overflowed.
The Mens A team did an excellent job once again and soon established a dominant lead to finish in first place, nearly 10 minutes ahead of their nearest rival.
