Following on from his victory at the Yorkshire XC champs, Alex Thompson went on to also claim the Under 15 Boys Northern XC Championship with another impressive run. Sitting just behind the leading runners for the first half of the race he made a break as they reached the start of the hairpin loop. From their he gradually pulled away to win in a time of 12.22, with 2nd place Kyle Rabjohn some 10 seconds behind.
Alice Jones having been comfortably in 3rd for most of the race dropped down to 5th in the final finish straight just missing out on a medal.
