Four of our members were in London for the 2017 London Marathon and Mini Marathon. We had three youngsters selected to run for Yorkshire and Humberside in the Mini-Marathon which competes over the last three miles and finished on the Mall. In the U13 boys race Alex Thompson produced a great run to finish third just 12 seconds behind the winner with Sam Smith close behind in 15th, whilst in the U13 Girls race Alice Jones finished 32nd out of 239 runners.
As the youngsters were celebrating their finishes on the Mall, 26.2 miles away Sarah Charlesworth was just setting off. She had an incredible run to beat the 4 hour mark, finishing in 3.58.14
