A new set of races for 2016 incorporating FRA Junior champs and Yorkshire Junior Championships

HawkswickOverview

Starting at the bottom of the track where the Bofra Hawkswick race runs but instead taking the track to the right. The senior race will traverse the ridge, visiting the trig and then climbing to Middlesmoor Pasture where it turns right and descends toward Kettlewell for a short while.  Then its a rough climb back to the ridge  before a fast descent back to the start point.

U16’s : 5.2k – 210m

U18/Seniors – 7.3k – 300m

Outgang Lane, Hawkswick, Littondale, BD23 5PX
Leave the B6160 at the second turn off to Arncliffe. i.e. cross the bridge first and then turn left over the cattle grid. ( Otherwise access to the car park field is difficult)

Times

First race will be U8’s at 12 noon.  The races will then proceed in age order with each race starting when all runners from previous race have been accounted for.  Seniors will set off, shortly after the U18’s but not before 2pm.   Presentation f0r all races will take place after the U18/Senior race.

Yorkshire Championship

Please indicate on the entry form by ticking the appropriate box if you wish to take part in the Yorkshire Championship.

Eligibility:

Born in Yorkshire regardless of where you live now or 9 months residency immediately prior to the race. Competitors can only compete for one county in any 9 month period

Refreshements.

Leave the sandwiches and flask at home.

The very talented Wharfedale hotesses with the most will be in charge of our refreshments stall selling such delights as bacon butties and home baked cakes along with tea & coffee, water and fizzy drinks.

Kit Requirements

All runners MUST bring and be prepared to carry a waterproof jacket. It must have taped seams and a permanent attached hood.  If yours is not waterproof and the weather on the day requires you to have a waterproof one, you will not be allowed to run.  The “florries” that many runners use for night running are NOT waterproof and therefore do not count as such. Other equipment you may be asked to carry are hat, gloves and; older runners (U16 and above) waterproof trousers, compass, whistle and map.
