Yorkshire Veterans Athletic Association – message from Andrea.

Hi folks,
At the recent AGM I volunteered to take up the role of representative / information bearer for the Yorkshire Veterans Athletics Associaton.
As a club we, are affliaited to the association so ALL our members can take part in events, whether they live in Yorkshire or not.
The association run several races over different terrains generally from March through to November these are open to ladies over 35 and men over 40.
There are 2 main competitions – The Grand Prix and the Championship.
The Grand Prix is a series of “closed” races, these are open to non-veterans too but they are non-counters for points. There are both team and individual awards at the end of the season. The easiest way to enter a GP race is to register online prior to your first race and pick your number up at registration. The first race in the GP series this year is on March 29th at Honley I will post up links for entry etc nearer the time.

The Championship is a series of multi-discipline events that encompass Road, Track, X-Country and Fell races with a wide range of distances so hopefully there’s something for every-one.The first Championship event is the Spen 20 on March 15th, again I will post up entry details etc nearer the time.
Please give me a shout if you would like more information about the association or races. I will post up a full list for the GP and Championship as soon as all dates are confirmed, as I know those race calendars are filling up fast
