In arguably the hardest fell race in England at 21 miles and 9000ft of climbing? conditions were made even tougher in the hot conditions with 104 people dropping/timed out from the 280 starters! Wharfedale had a few hardcore members take part in the 3rd race in the FRA English Championships which was also a Wharfedale club championship counter. Paul Crabby Crabtree had an excellent run to finish 19th overall in 4.31 and received a prize on the day from the legend Joss Naylor. Rachel Hill also had another brilliant run to finish 8th lady in 5.18. Wharfedale ladies had great team results with the LV40 winning the team event (Rachel, Gill and Jean) and the ladies finishing 3rd team (Rachel, Gill and Looie) behind Ambleside and Keswick. This means that the ladies are currently 1st in the LV40’s English team champs and 2nd in ladies team champs after 3 races!
