Wharfedale’s Louisa Pickles cruised to victory in the ladies race to win the the 2013 Ilkley Trail Race amidst strong competition. Looie finished in 30th place overall out of 243 runners in 49.45 ahead of last years winner Lucy Thompson from Stainland Lions and Ilkley’s Emma Barclay. Paul Crabby Crabtree had another great run to finish 6th place in 44.41, just 2 days after his strong run at Hutton Roof Crags. The race was won by Ilkleys Tom Adam’s for the 5th time in a row in 39.41 who had a big lead on the rest of the field. Also for Wharfedale – Jason Hemsley had a good run following his cycling exploits to finish 14th in 47.39, Keith Holder struggling in the latter stages of the race finished 71st in 54.35 and Angela Donlan who won her entry in a prize draw had a good run to finish 122nd in 59.10. Logan Hargreaves-Madhas was the only junior Wharfedale representative finishing in 17th in the 8 – 13 year old category.
