200 runners and riders turned out for this years Runners and Riders Fell race over the moors above Appletreewick on a somewhat blustery day. Once again it was a cyclist that was first overall with the honours this year going to Tom Bell of Nidderdale Fell and Trail, in a time of 31.26 followed not too far behind by first runner Henry Webb of Dark Peak in a time of 32.51. First lady was Sarah McCormack of Ambleside in a time of 37.15. There was much enjoyment then of warm drinks, sandwiches and cake afterwards in the comfort of Ted’s barn, with proceeds from the race going to local local Fell Rescue, Sue Ryder and Burnsall School.
