British Relay Championships – Howgills (Sunday 19th October)

Wharfedale had 4 teams running in the FRA relays on Sunday. The mens A team ran fantastically to finish 4th overall, out of the 217 teams who started – this was also Wharfedale’s highest ever finishing position and Ted and Sam earned new status as the ‘ Neanderthals of fellrunning’ (I think it was a compliment?!!).  The mens B team also ran well to finish 23rd overall, the vets team were 7th vets team despite disaster on the final leg when Paul Lambert stumbled resulting in a broken ankle – get well soon Paul. The ladies also ran great to  finish 9th ladies team out of the 50 ladies teams entered.

Mens A Team – 4th overall 3.50.55 behind Dark Peak 3.43.55, Calder Valley 3.48.05 and Borrowdale 3.50.14

Mens B Team – 23rd overall 4.14.28

Mens 040 Vets Team – 32nd overall 4.22.06

Leg 1 – Jason Hemsley 46.35 (36th), Leg 2 – Nick Charlesworth and Paul Crabby 1.23.57 (17th), Leg 3 – Dave Haygarth and Dave McGuire 1.16.22 (48th), Leg 4 – Paul Lambert 55.12 (82nd)

Ladies – 9th ladies Team (102nd overall)
