It was a rather breezy day on Penistone hill as to be expected for the time of year, however the gusty headwind as runners ascended the track to Top Withins was something else. It did least provide a helping hand for the return and the worst of the rain kept off till late in the race. To the sounds of the traditional bag pipes 336 runners set off on this annual new Years Eve race.
Race winner was Tom Bell of Nidderdale Fell & Trail in a time of 44:40, with first lady Molly Browne of Wharfedale Harriers in a time of 54:05
