After torrential overnight rain, the day gradually brightened such that it was reasonably pleasant for this years running of the Great Whernside race. There was a gusting wind, which fortunately was behind on the way up, providing a helping hand up the hill.
First man was Lachlan Wills of Wharfedale Harriers in a time of 31:50 and first lady was Sophie Martin of Wharfedale Harriers in a time of 38:36.
