Ali Burns of Wharfedale Harriers won this years Silsden New Years Day Fun Run in a very impressive time of 16 mins 16 seconds, just some 50 seconds short of the record, but the closest anyone has got for some time. Katherine Kirkham was first Lady in 22m13 although Ian Willis made a very good attempt at also taking this title. Despite a brief burst of rain the weather was mostly dry, although a little breezy on top. 70 runners in total made it round the course, a number as customary in various forms of fancy dress. Proceeds from this years run will be going to Sue Ryder, Manorlands.
