4 mile 1558 ft : AS
From Scabbate Gate, Kettlewell to the top of Great Whernside and back
Starting in the field at the bottom of the fell where Scabbate Gate lane crosses Dowber Gill Beck. The initial ascent is on grass following track and path through the fields, uphill to the cottage at Hag Dyke. Thence through the gate to the fell and the terrain changes dramatically. First a rocky scramble over rough ground, followed by a short stretch of peat and bog with then a final steep ascent over rocky ground. At this point round the cairn, then its anyway back to the start, either straight across the heather or back down the path.

Ladies Entry List
Mens Entry List
Any person that appears to have a Yorkshire address, I have assumed you want to be entered for the Yorkshire Champs even if you didn’t tick the box. If that’s not the case or you are not eligible please let me know.
Registration/collection of numbers will close at 11.45am for the Ladies race, 1.45pm for the Mens race.
Parking
A field for parking has been arranged, on the road back out to Conistone, just past the Kettlewell campsite. From here its about 0.4 mile to the start so allow 10 minutes or so walk to the start. Parking in the registration field is included with the cost of race entry so will be free. Alternatively you can park in the main village car park where public toilets are located. Please do not park on the campsite or use their facilities. Toilets will be provided at registration. Please do not try to park on the track leading to the race start.
Kit Requirements
All runners should bring waterproof top with hood, and leggings both with taped seams along with hat, gloves and a whistle as per FRA guidelines and be prepared to carry them. A decision on what kit is required will be made on race day dependent on weather conditions.
